Apostle James’ personal mission statement is simple: “Empowering others to live maximized lives.”

Apostle Michael T. James received the Call to the Gospel Ministry in 1994. He was licensed in 1995 and ordained into the Gospel Ministry by the late Pastor Richard W. Gordon in 1997 in Murfreesboro, TN. Apostle James served faithfully as an Associate Minister at First Baptist Church until he was called to be the Senior Pastor at the Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, TN where he served for over twenty years As Senior Pastor, he led a debt free campaign which retired over $200,000 in facility debt and allowed the church to steward over $8 million dollars in revenue and operate debt free throughout his 20 years of leadership.

Transitioning the ministry from a traditional congregational led church to a relevant kingdom focused ministry. His consistent obedience to God took Mount Vernon to greater levels and his bold teaching of God’s word has changed the lives of people throughout the United States.

In 1999 Apostle James met the late Apostle Bishop Eddie L. Long and joined the Father’s House as a submitted spiritual son until the transition of Apostle Long in 2017. By God’s divine providence, Apostle James and his wife, Lady Tanya James along with their daughter, Eden Grace relocated to the Atlanta, GA region.

In 2006, a pivotal point occurred in Apostle James’ life when he was introduced to the revelation of the Feasts of the LORD and God’s Timing including understanding the Hebrew calendar. It was this turning point that shifted Apostle James from preaching traditions of men to teaching God’s truth and His way.

Apostle James has served as an Executive Pastor and Campus Pastor which resulted in spiritual, numerical, and financial increase for the ministry location he was placed over. On September 21, 2021, Apostle James was affirmed as an Apostle in the Lord’s Church.

After seeking direction and counsel from the Holy Spirit, Apostle James along with his wife Lady Tanya James received a mandate from the Lord to birth an Apostolic Center with a focus on healing and deliverance in the Tucker, GA region. In March 2023, The Kingdom Impact Church was born.

Apostle James graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace and from Southern Christian University with a Master of Science in Christian Ministry.

His leadership extends beyond the church as he has served as the former Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Dr. Martin Luther King Scholarship Board of Rutherford County and has received several community and civic awards including the Rutherford County Distinguished Service Award, the Rutherford County Faith Award, and the Bradley Academy’s Willie McGowan Award.

The love of his life, his wife, mother of his beautiful daughter Eden Grace, ministry partner, and best friend, Lady Tanya James, a woman of the Kingdom who is the epitome of elegance, grace, and quiet strength.

Lady James is a native of Louisville, KY, and a graduate of The University of Kentucky with a degree in Business Management. God has uniquely positioned her to represent the Kingdom of God in the marketplace with a Fortune 50 company where she is a servant leader in the area of Corporate Responsibility. A firm believer in self and professional development, Lady James has obtained the following insurance designations: PHR, CPCU, CLU, and ChFc.

 

Lady James’ first and most important ministry is to her husband, Apostle James and her daughter, Eden Grace. Her hobbies are gardening and volunteering passionately in the community especially with initiatives impacting children and food insecurity.

 

Apostle and Lady James are the proud parents of Eden Grace James, the manifestation of unrelenting faith in God’s promises. She is the apple of her parent’s eye and loves swimming and drawing.

Apostle Michael and Lady Tanya James have answered the call to advance the Kingdom of God in the earth and by helping to empower people through the teaching of God’s word of truth and helping to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.
